Not creepy at all: museums at night

Cabaret performances between the art works and animals to stroke in a museum – that could only happen on Museum Night. On 25 September 2010 the Dortmund DEW21 Museum Night is celebrating its tenth anniversary.

Every year tens of thousands of culture fans are out and about for Dortmund’s Museum Night. Around 60 venues take part – not only museums, but also galleries and studios, churches and cultural institutions. They stay open into the night for their inquisitive visitors, who don’t only get to see treasures in cabinets or paintings on the wall but also concerts and cabaret, readings, midnight tours, theatre and participatory events. Among the 500 events there are also many specially put on for children.
