The Peace light of the religions

Shining for peace

The PEACE LIGHT OF RELIGIONS is made up of a large number of white, translucid elements, half of which are symbols of world religions like Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Bahai, Buddhism and Hinduism. Each of these symbols will be linked with the others, as well as further symbols free of any religious reference.

During the daytime the spotlights will be white, and at night they will change into red, green and blue. When other basic colours are added the spotlights will return to their original appearance: pure white "heavenly light". The Peace Light will be installed in old and new secular and religious buildings. As a crystallisation point for creative action it will invite people of all religious communities to become actively involved in the search for peace. In 2009 the Peace Light was created in inter national twin towns. In 2010 it will be radiating its message in several towns in the Ruhr Metropolis.
