Borussia Dortmund or "BVB" is a German sports club based in Dortmund and one of the most successful soccer clubs in Germany.

The team Borussia Dortmund plays in the "Bundesliga": The German Premier League. Dortmund is one of the most successful clubs in German soccer history. .

Furthermore they won eight German championships and three DFB Cups. In 1966, BVB won the European Cup as the first German club ever as well as 1997 the Champions League Cup.

Legendary players of Borussia are Manfred Burgsmüller, Lothar Emmerich, Michael Rummenigge, Michael Zorc, Matthias Sammer, Jürgen Kohler, Lars Ricken and Dedê. Presently among the best players are Marco Reus, Mats Hummels and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Since 1974 the club plays in the Signal Iduna Park (in the past it has been called Westfalenstadion). The stadium is the biggest stadium in Germany and the sixth biggest in Europe. Signal Iduna Park has had several renovations throughout the years to increase the size of the stadium, including an expansion of the stadium for 2006 FIFA World Cup.

In 2011, Borussia Dortmund installed a black solar system on the roof of Signal Iduna Park based on Q-Cells. The renovations turned the stadium into the biggest “soccer opera” of Germany.

Borussia Dortmund’s colours are black and yellow and the slogan is "Echte Liebe" meaning "True Love". As a result of the expansion today, the biggest soccer stadium in Germany is located on the "Strobelallee" with a capacity of 80,645 visitors. The south stand is called "Südtribune". It is by far the biggest stand of Europe. It is the epicentre of Dortmund’s soccer enthusiasm, the heart and soul of the BVB. The truest fans are mostly watching the game here.

Borussia Dortmund has over 500 official fan clubs around the world. However the main fan club is organized by Borussia Dortmund. The stadium at the "Strobelallee" is simply called "The Temple" by the fans and quite often called "the most beautiful stadium in the world" by press, professionals, celebrities and of course the fans.

To know what soccer spirit feels like you should visit Dortmund and try to see a game. It is worth it.
