Image Campaign "Amazing Dortmund."

For three years the city of Dortmund will run their new image campaign "Amazing Dortmund." Surprising facts and interesting stories stand in the middle of all activities.


Magnifier: Click to enlarge The image campaign includes nine different subject areas - science and technology, residential and leisure area, cultural and sporting landscape, as well as the strengths of Dortmund.

The campaign sees itself as an umbrella for all activities of the Dortmund players in nine different subject areas, that were identified together. The spectrum is broad and ranges from technology and science over the residential and leisure area to cultural and sporting landscape. The central objective of the two-year campaign is to change and broaden the public's gaze for Dortmund, to thereby improve the city's image.

Mayor Ullrich Sierau describes the main thrust as: "We want to talk about the current and future-oriented Dortmund, experience our strengths as well as to reduce stereotypes. With the claim to always stay authentic."

Experience the strengths of Dortmund personally

The lead management of the project is the urban Dortmund Agency. "The campaign consistently implements the communication concept by the City Council, but this adds another important building block: the personal experience of the strengths and interesting facets of our city," said Dr. Ulrich Potthoff, spokesman for the Dortmund Agency.

Large playoff party with the Dortmund Eisadlern

An essential part of the website image campaign "Dortmund - full of surprises." are exceptional Dortmund facts as well as matching pictures and stories.

Over the homepage Dortmund Überrascht. Dich and different social media platforms - events, hands-on activities, competitions and much more about Dortmund surprises. To kick off the city the "Eisadler Dortmund" host on February 20th a great playoff party.

Part of the site for the image campaign are also text contributions by well-known bloggers with local color (Fee ist mein Name, Zwillingsnaht, Nordstadtblogger and Dormunderisch).

But all Dortmund citizens are invited to share their surprising Dortmund with others. A Social Media Wall on the campaign website leads the contributions from different channels together.

Exhibition in the Berswordt hall for the campaign launch

The start of the campaign also accompany two "InfoCubes" in the pedestrian zone and an exhibition in the Berswordt hall.

From January 20th to 3rd February you can be surprised in passing Dortmund.
