Dortmund Airport provides the town and the region with direct flights to many destinations in different countries and to the most important hub airports in Europe. Quick check-in procedures, short distances, a clear layout and good security - just four of the qualities that a rising number of passengers flying via Dortmund know and appreciate.

The largest canal harbour in Europe, Dortmund Harbour offers the region's business a direct connection to the major seaport in Europe. It is also well on its own way to becoming E-Port Dortmund - i.e. a haven of start-ups and spin-offs in the e-logistics sector.

Dortmund is one of Germany's most important railway stations. Approx. 150,000 passengers use it every day for 130 indispensable EC, IC and ICE trains to other large cities in Germany and Europe.

Dortmund is also right at the centre of the European motorway network. No fewer than seven regional and supraregional interroutes meet here, ultimately forming an orbital road around Dortmund. As a result, the other important cities in the Ruhr and other economic regions in Europe can be reached quickly by car. In addition, a highly modern and efficient road network in and around Dortmund links the motorways with the business parks and the city centre.

Dortmund has a splendid public transport system. Use just one combi-ticket to travel on the trams, the buses, the underground and the suspension railway at the university. Not only that. Dortmund Public Transport is also integrated into the region's very efficient travel network.

Parking is not a problem in the city centre. A parking guidance system enables the driver to find one of the 7,600 parking places in one of the fourteen multi-story or underground carparks there.
