As the largest canal harbour in Europe and with over one hundred years of history, Dortmund Harbour is well equipped for the challenges of the future. Its approx. 40 crane systems with a load bearing capacity of up to 60 tonnes create the right conditions for modern transhipment and warehousing systems whose strengths are continually expanded to meet the latest requirements.

So too e-port-dortmund (DE) , a unique forward-looking venture. Within the framework of the dortmund-project (DE) , 5,000 square metres in a listed building dating from the latter half of the 18th century is to be transformed into state-of-the-art office accommodation. The aim of this new centre, situated at such a strategic place, is to focus the expertise of logistics companies in Dortmund and area for the future of e-commerce. Both existing companies and new start-ups will have access to the e-business and e-logistic infrastructure of the future.
